Rimless Prescription Sunglasses FAQ

What are rimless sunglasses?

Rimless sunglasses have lenses that are attached directly to the bridge and temples - no frame surrounding the lenses. Only the nose bridge and temple arms are visible. This creates a minimalist, lightweight look.

Are rimless sunglasses durable enough for everyday wear?

Yes - for careful everyday wear.
No - for rough or active use.
Rimless sunglasses can last for years if you treat them well. They are not as durable as full-frame sunglasses. They are more delicate and require more care.

Can I get high prescriptions in rimless sunglasses?

Yes, but there are some limitations. High‑prescription lenses tend to be thicker at the edges, which can be more visible in a rimless design. Using high‑index materials helps reduce thickness. For very strong prescriptions, a semi‑rimless or full‑rim frame is often a more durable choice.
We can assess your prescription and recommend the best option.

Do rimless prescription sunglasses look good on everyone?

Not necessarily - it depends on face shape and personal style. However, we offer a variety of rimless styles designed to suit different face shapes. Trying a few shapes can help find what works best for you.

Are rimless sunglasses more fragile than full frames?

Yes, rimless sunglasses are more fragile than full-frame ones. Lenses lack surrounding frame protection and are easy to chip or crack when knocked or dropped. They work well for daily commuting but are not suitable for sports or rough outdoor activities.
