What is Rx insert for ski goggles?

10 cze 2026 OptiOut

An Rx insert for ski goggles is a small, separate frame that holds prescription lenses and attaches to the inside of a ski goggle. It sits between your eyes and the goggle’s outer lens, allowing people who need vision correction to see clearly while wearing standard ski goggles. In short: Rx insert = prescription glasses built into your ski goggles.
Instead of grinding your prescription into the goggle lens itself (expensive and frame-specific), the RX insert holds your prescription lenses in a small carrier that attaches to the inside of almost any goggle.

How does an Rx insert work?

What is Rx insert for ski goggles?

  1. Your ski goggles have a large, curved outer lens (tinted for sun or bright light). The RX insert fits behind that outer lens, close to your eyes.
Outer lens: Protects from snow, wind, and UV. Can be tinted, mirrored, or clear.
  2.  RX insert: Holds your prescription lenses. Custom-made to your exact SPH, CYL, AXIS, and PD.
You see through both layers – the tinted outer lens and your prescription insert. The result is clear, corrected vision with full eye protection.

Why skiers choose Rx insert?

  • Crisp, accurate vision: You use your exact prescription, not a one‑size‑fits‑all solution like OTG goggles.
  • No need for contact lenses: Many skiers cannot wear contacts due to dry eyes, dust, or discomfort. Rx inserts solve that.
  • Works with all goggle lenses: You can still swap out goggle lenses for different light conditions (sunny, cloudy, night) – the Rx insert stays in place.
  • Minimal fogging: Because the insert is inside the goggle’s sealed environment and sits close to your face, fog is much less common than with glasses under goggles.
